Blogs FAQ
Q. How long does it take to setup a blog?
A. Once you sign-up and start your subscription (est.
3 minutes), your blog will be immediately installed and configured.
You may login and start posting right away.
Q. I've never blogged before. Is it difficult?
A. Posting to a blog is as simple as sending an email.
Using the "write" control panel, you type in a title, then type
in your message and click the "publish" button. That's it! The new
post is instantly added to your site. The system software does everything
else (ie. archiving past articles etc.).
Q. Do I need to download any software?
A. You do NOT need to download or install any software,
it is all online so you may update your site from any computer that
is connected to the Web. The control panel allows you to post new
entries, edit old ones, add photos, manage guest comments and change
the blog's theme. Updates are unlimited and can be made anytime
day or night.
Q. Will you place advertisements on my blog?
A. We NEVER include advertising on our member sites!
Our blog and forum service is 100% ad-free!
Q. I only want my friends and family to read my blog. Is
this possible?
The Web is public domain so it is not possible to
guarantee that no one else will ever read your blog, but you may
turn off the pinging features for added privacy. As long as other
websites do not link your blog (friends website or forums), it should
remain relatively private.
Q. How do I upload and attach images?
A. Login to your control panel. Using the "Upload"
section of the "Write" page, browse for the image file on your computer
hard drive, CD or digital camera and upload it to the server. A
thumbnail image will appear in the upload section. Next, click on
the image to see a list of links, then click on the "send to editor"
link. This should add your image info to the "Post" field (where
you type in the text of your post). Fill in the rest of your post
and click the "Publish" button. We recommend using images with small
file sizes to speed the loading of your blog page.
